The 5th Summit on Chinese Psychiatric Genetics with the theme of multi-omics and spectrum of psychiatric disorders was held in Suzhou, China on May 20-21, 2018. The Summit gathered a cluster of outstanding experts in psychiatry worldwide including Steve Faraone and Chunyu Liu from SUNY Upstate Medical University, Thomas G. Schulze from LMU Munich. Ten invited speakers shared their latest research results with more than 100 attendees. To encourage young researchers to exchange opinions with peers worldwide, the Summit also ran a best oral presentation competition and awarded three winners, who are listed below. Each best oral presentation winner was awarded 1,000 USD supported by Journal of Psychiatry and Brain Science (JPBS). The three winners will attend the ISPG annual meeting (XXVI World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics) in Glasgow, Scotland.

During the Summit, JPBS organized its first Editorial Board Meeting. Chunyu Liu (Associate Editor-in-Chief), Steve Faraone, Thomas G. Schulze (Associate Editor-in-Chief), Margit Burmeister (Editorial Board Member) and Mary Fan (Managing Editor) participated in the journal meeting. Key issues regarding the journal have been discussed e.g., OA publishing problem, journal position, ways to attract good papers. JPBS is grateful for the support from the academic experts, and hope we will bring the journal to the next level together.
