Accompanied by Prof. Chunyu Liu (University of Chicago), Prof. Elliot S. Gershon, former chairman of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) and the editor-in-chief of 《Journal of Psychiatry and Brain Science》("JPBS") and his entourage from University of Chicago including Assistant Professor New Alliey-Rodriguez paid a visit to Qingres Ltd’s China branch (its data processing center) and met with Mr. Jingpeng Yan, the president of Qingres Ltd’s China Branch and Prof. Xiaogang Chen (Psychiatry Department of Second Xiangya Hospital), the co-editor-in-chief of JPBS, on the afternoon of August 31, 2016. At 2:00 pm. Prof. Gershon and his entourage arrived at the company, and they visited different departments of the Company guided by Mr. Yan. During the visit, Prof. Gershon was interested in the different kinds of Medical Journals operated by the company. They discussed with Mr. Yan and Prof. Chen on the direction of the future development of the medical journals and how to make better collaborations in the field. Liting An, the medical academic editor of Journal of International Psychiatry (Chinese version) explained the operational contents and future developments of Qingres Ltd in PPT, including cooperation with domestic and international large databases. During the explanation, participants also discussed the specific development plans for the future of JPBS. Prof. Gershon mentioned that he highly regarded the Qingres Ltd’s editor data processing center of in China and he was very proud to be the editor-in-chief of JPBS. He is also confident that the business of Qingres Ltd would be more successful with staff’s commitments, and JPBS is getting a more important position in the field of psychiatry and mental sciences.Prof. Gershon and his team concluded the visit by meeting the staff and taking photographs with one and all.
Last week, Qingres and Elsevier signed the cooperation agreement for Semantic Summarization Project (SSP). The long term target of the project is to develop standards for summarization of scientific articles in computerized structured form that can be used for graphical visualization and downstream algorithms. The short term goal is building special interface for Qingres authors that can be used to deposit information into Elsevier Pathway Studio database. The information for the database will be generated by the authors whose manuscripts have been accepted to Qingres journals. The format and content of submitted data will be monitored by both Qingres and Pathway Studio teams through close collaboration and communication. This project will greatly facilitate the readability and reachability of scientific articles benefiting authors.
Qingres is officially included by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) via the A&I Metadata Feed License Agreement signed by both parties on August 2, 2016. With high quality content resources, leading edge technology and professional services, CNKI enjoys a high reputation in academia in China. Started and first launched by Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Tongfang Holding Group in June 1999, CNKI is dedicated to the mass digitalization of China knowledge resources, as well as creating the platform for global dissemination and value-added services. After being included in CNKI, Qingres and its journals will share the data with the CNKI and the articles in our journals will be cited by the peers, so our reputation will be improved further. As the most comprehensive system of China academic knowledge resources, CNKI can also share the academic development of psychiatry and brain sciences between Chinese scientist and the world.
JPBS was invited to attend the conference of the 3rd Chinese Psychiatric Genetics Summit 2016 and make a report with the theme of JPBS Facilitates the Development of Mental Health Service and Research in China, and got the general recognition of the participants in the meeting.Sponsored by the Chinese Society of Psychiatric Genetics and hosted by Wuxi Mental Health Center, the 3rd Chinese Psychiatric Genetics Summit 2016 was successfully held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province on April 29-30, 2016. At the conference, all members of the Chinese Society of Psychiatric Genetics (including scholars from the United States, Germany, China, and so on) decided to join the JPBS editorial board and co-founded JPBS with Qingres after negotiation. In addition, there were other deep cooperation between JPBS and the Chinese Society of Psychiatric Genetics, such as, co-organizing conferences, sharing data, cooperating on the researches and papers across regions, and so on. Both parties are devoted to boosting the development of mental health service and research in China.
Prof. Elliot S. Gershon joined Qingress and became the co-editor-in-chief of JPBS on March 25, 2016. Professor Gershon now works as a professor in department of psychiatry, University of Chicago and he is the former chairman of World Psychiatric Association (WPA). Gershon has worked on elucidation of the genetics of major mental illnesses for almost four decades. He and his colleagues presented and defined the concept of bipolar II as a related diagnostic entity in 1976. Cyclothymic personality was defined and identified in relatives in his two family studies in 1975 and 1982. He has published about 200 SCI papers, of which one of his articles has once been cited for up to 500 times. Journal of Psychiatry and Brain Science (JPBS), officially launched its publications since April 2016, is an online-only, open access and peer-reviewed multidisciplinary international journal of Qingres, representing and fostering interaction between all of the key psychiatry-relevant disciplines. JPBS will mainly publish the important clinical and research achievements in psychiatry, psychology, neurology, neurosurgery, and other medical fields. As Prof. Gershon joined, Qingres will embrace the new level in the academic publishing industry.
25th December 2015, Dr Jinsong Tang from University California officially accepted the invitation from Qingres Ltd, became the Vice-president of Qingres.Dr Tang is the first Chinese Vice-president of Qingres Ltd, and will be responsible for its marketing in the US market and Chinese Market.Dr Tang also works as a postdoctoral researcher in University of California;Supervisor of postgraduate at the Institute of Mental Health in Central SouthUniversity. He was also Visiting researcher in several institutions including Cambridge University, American Institute of Health and University of Chicago. He is currently the Deputy Chief Editor of <<Journal of Psychiatry and Brain Science>>; Member of the Editorial Board of several journals including<<Scientific Reports>> (Nature Group’s SCI international journal); Junior Member of Chinese Psychiatrist Association; Junior Member of China Sleep Research Association (CSRA). He is running 2 National Natural Science Foundation in China, participating in more than 10 projects in China including China National 973 Project, key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China; published more than 40 SCI journals, with single journal’s impact factor over 15.With the help of Dr Tang, it will greatly accelerate Qingres’ development in the American and Chinese market, promote Qingres’ contributions in international scientific research.
